Campaign "Future School" - Bottrop schools are participating

Project target

The aim of the campaign throughout NRW is to shape lessons and everyday life at school aiming at education for sustainable development. Schools participate during the period of the campaign within a network with their own ideas and projects and in this way show in an exemplary manner how sustainable development, participation, integration and networking can shape a "Future school". Upon reaching their goals they will be awarded the title "Future school". Bottrop schools are also participating in the campaign within the scope of a network which also includes extramural partners, over a period of approx. two years with in each case their own special subject relating to the sustainability aspect.

Project idea

With the action programme "Agenda 21", decided upon in Rio in 1992 and affirmed at the world summit in Johannesburg in 2002, as goals the conservation of ecological, economic and social resources for the good of future generations were given priority. Education plays a central role in this context. The United Nations therefore announced the UN decade of education for sustainable development for the period from 2005 to 2014. The Land of NRW supports this project with the campaign "Future school".
